    The strap is 31 inches (79 cm)
    Condition: Used: There is one small hole in the bottom corner of the back. The strap is broken and tied. The back has a flap, but no pocket. The bag is sturdy and could be used.
    Description: This antique chuspa bag has beautiful naturally died colors including cochineal, and a complicated design. Cross-body bags of this type were used for carrying the leaves of the coca plant. This traditional stimulant for high country workers has been used to increase productivity and energy in this region for centuries. (Auctioneers note: Coca leave extract was the Coca in the original Coca Cola.) Some larger bags of this type, like this one, may have been used by male or female shamans.
    This item was from a Northern, California Estate. This bag along with others was collected in Bolivia in the 1970s.
