Antique Cast Iron Victorian Clamshell Soap Dish Wolf & Babies Ashtray Animal Cub

One of a kind antique Victorian Cast Iron Wolf with feeding babies on a Clamshell style base either used as a Soap Dish or Ashtray. This handmade figural casting is from the late 19th to early 20th century.  It's connected with a Primitive threaded rod type of bolts through the underside of the shell.  There's also 4 contact nubs or casting feet on the bottom so it sits level on surfaces.
Approximately 4" wide x 3" tall x 4" long
A very unique piece to say the least!
No visible makers marks or markings that i can find.
With the  small amount of research that i did, I was told this piece could possibly date back to the late 19th century and was crafted and used by wealthy and elite European royalty types. This is what i was told by someone,  please use your judgment and ask me if you need additional photos or info.
There is some obvious wear, marks, etc, Overall its in great vintage condition!
