Description
For sale isa Spode porcelain chestnut basket and stand in pattern number 341. The pattern was introduced in 1803 and a small gilt flower sprig was used on dessert wares but omitted from tea and dinner wares. This basket was made in the early 19th century . The basket is superbly modeled with reticulated sides and branch handles highlighted with gilding. The under plate has a reticulated rim highlighted with gilding and a flower in the center. This basket is in superb condition with a little wear to the gilding, some firing marks from the making on the inside bottom and underneath as well as two small chips on the bottom rim that are minor. The under plate has some wear to the central gilded flower, a hairline with two tiny chips by it on the side and a stained area on one end but still looks very nice and it is not common to find the basket with its under plate. The basket is The cup is 2.25 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. The under plate is 0.875 inches tall, 9.25 inches wide and 7.75 inches deep. Neither is marked but that is the norm for these ware during this period. Porzellan Korb 19thC
