Description
Beautiful Rare Antique J. DIMMOCK & CO. WARWICK large serving platter. Hanley England Aesthetic movement Transfer ware c.1860's This is an absolutely gorgeous platter. Rectangular in shape with wonderfully decorative scalloped edges and geometrical edging pattern .Pictures depicting animals and nature. (Stag deer, birds, trees, flowers and foliage. Ivory background with brown patterns.Hallmarked - "J.D. & Co. WARWICK" ROUND STAMP WITH CREST AND CROWN. c.1860's and additional makers mark with roman numerals and letters.J. Dimmock was a manufacturer of Earthen ware and Ironstone china at the Albion works, Hanley (Shelton) England. From. 1838-1904
It was brought to my attention that this is an Ice Cream tray. It was originally from a set w/ bowls.
Description of condition: The platter does have a hairline crack on one side that can be seen from top and bottom,when I run my fingers over the crack line it is smooth and cannot be felt. There are no other cracks or chips, however there is natural discoloration to the glaze and crackling. (Please refer to photograph's)The platter has fabulous rich colors and does not have any ware to the surface. This plate was stored for many years and looks as if it were barely used. This platter is a collectors dream.
