ESTATE FIND, University of Wisconsin textile professor and world traveller.  Very nice condition, no holes or stains and only some very minor soil possible.
All wool Andean Indian textile measuring  approximately 25 inches square, woven in a single panel.
This is an all wool cloth, quite nicely woven. It is made from handspun wool, hand-woven on an Andean loom.  The undecorated horizontal red and black bands are plain weave, the decorated bands are all supplemental weft.   The dyes appear to be largely synthetic, though there could also be some vegetal dyes present. I would guess the date to be ca. 1960
.   All sides show a simple selvage edge finish.
Both sides are shown in the photos, since they are mirror images.  The applied cotton edging is sewn by hand, and is on only one side.
Condition is Very Good, light wear, no repairs noticed, light soil possible.    I do have this weaving in a sealed bag with a few moth balls, so it will have a slight odor when delivered.
This is an authentic indigenous textile, not a modern commercial product, all handmade on a traditional Andean ground loom
