  • Condition: A Used Costa Rican Pre-Coumbian 3+” Ceramic Jaguar Tooth with hole at the top for suspension. It is from the Diquis Culture Phase VI object with the style of Chiriqui Buenos Aires Polychrome. It was made from 1000-1550 AD from reddish clay with a slip of cream with black and red paint. There are examples of the same painting designs in the catalog Art of Costa Rica;The Sackler Collection, pages 248-9 & 25. The Diquis culture was in Costa Rica and Panama with this particular culture and style being in areas which is now Panama. There were no borders then.
