    Description

    HERE'S A RARE FIND.  This is the legendary Audiotape 2551 R (R for reel) red oxide recording tape.  Upon its' introduction in the early 50's, this was THE tape to use.  It had the highest signal to noise ratio and highest saturation level of any tape at that time.  It's still coveted to this day by rock-n-roll and rhythm and blues analog fanatics.  It is used exactly the same way to "blast" a really hot signal onto the tape and get that inimitable analog/tape "calculated distortion"  This reel is in original box, with Audiotape logo sporting pre-zipcode printing on box  The tape is in fine original condition and quite usable.  The reel is an Audiotape factory embossed early type 6 spoke NAB reel and hub.  The box,O.K.+,  inner sleeve,tape & reel vg/vg+ Note the back of the box has no writing.I found this poor motley flyer in another audiotape box.Will include a copy for ref.
