    Description

A beautiful, colorful, and charming aguayo that warms the heart. Stripes and symbols in bright cochineal orange, magenta, and red, mixed with black, white, indigo, and green colors throughout, accent this large natural striated coffee brown aguayo.
The patterns and symbols woven into the aguayo record the thoughts and the experiences of the women spinning and weaving the textile to life. Both colors and symbols have meaning and identify a region or community. In this tapestry the skill of the weaver and the good feelings expressed by the symbols project a positive feel for life and an appreciation of  nature—men and women holding hands, horses, fox, running animals (dog?), fox, birds (condor), and the sun god (Inti)
that looks over and takes care of people on earth.
Diamonds within the sun burst also can symbolize lakes. If there is something inside the diamond, it means the lake is healthy and ready for harvest.
We can only guess at the meaning of symbols as the true meaning is in the mind of the weaver. There is a mystery symbol used here that resembles an insect or perhaps an automobile!
